Default chaeto died and now caulpera is giving up too......what???

I finally have my display looking great. Everyone's happy, and all levels are where they should be.
But I'll be dammed if I can't get chaeto or caulpera to grow at all.
I've tried a few dif. lights in the sump, and nothing................. really wierd!!

I did use algaefix over the last few weeks, to fix a display issue, but that isn't supposed to hurt any macro is it?

any help is of course appreciated.

All marine plants are algaes. If you are using a product to kill algae, it likely killed your macroalgae too.

Add phosphates and Nitrates and your algaes will flourish? (JK) Your coraline may be using up enough waste to where there is not enough for macro's? In my fuge on my 300 I have a ball of chaeto that started as a baseball size and a few months is only the size of a softball.
