Operation Towels for Turtles
My little company will be accepting donations of clean, used bath towels (the bigger the better) to participate in Craft Hope's Project 8 - an initiative to provide the Institute for Marine Mammal Studies with hand towels to aid in cleaning oil covered sea turtles and dolphins.
It is perfectly acceptable if the towels are frayed at the edges, etc. as long as the terry fabric is intact and clean.
I will be re-purposing the used bath towels into sizes requested by IMMS. I think this will be a great way to reuse/recycle and support the people that are working hard to safe affected marine life.
If you have a serger or sewing machine you can also make your own hand towels and send them directly to Craft Hope or donate at the IMMS site.

Karin,
This sounds like a great cause! I would love to look through my linen closet, I'm sure I have some I can contribute.
How soon are you looking to send them off?
