Female Brindle Boxer

I am only checking interest at this time in trying to find someone who may want my 3 1/2 year old female brindle Boxer. Unfortunatley I am having trouble with her escaping and going to visit my Mom's house which is down the street,16 houses away. I have one of her pups here at home that she lives with and so does my Mom (10 month old brothers). It seems to me that my female likes to go and check up on her baby at my Moms for a day and then escape from her home to check up on her other son at my house (unconditional love ) . With 4 new neighbors along the way, I am worried that they wouldn't understand and will call Animal Services to pick her up. She has never bitten anyone, but she is easily judged by her looks and the type of dog she is. She isn't destructive and does not dig, however she is a jumper/escape artist. If anyone is interested, please send me a P.M. Keep in mind that I am only asking as a last resort. If I can somehow stop her from doing this, I will keep her. Thanks.

Why don't your family and the dogs move back to your mom's house and the problem will be solved....j/k. That is one hard decision to rehome her, but you doing what best for her. Man that is hard to do. Good luck with the outcome Andrew.

Oh I hope you can find a solution to keep her in. I always heard Boxers were usually really good with kids, etc. We have too many pets already. Boxer sounds perfect with that nice short fur, good size, usually good family dogs, etc.

Andrew Id recommend buying a 6ft tall chain link dog kennel with a top to keep her in. They are very effective for dogs that can jump or climb. You can buy one or always build your own. When I lived in Kansas City we had a Cane Corso mastiff that was super strong and get out of anything, but the kennel kept him in.

If thats not a option make a dog run. Simply takes two strong poles cemented in the ground a line from one end to the other and a lead leading to the dogs collar. This way she can run the lenght of the yard but not go anywhere.

Andrew, we had a fencejumper who just loved to cross the street and socialize with the teenage skater kids hanging out in the church parking lot. It was a very busy street that she crossed to do so. Eventually we bought a radio collar and buried the cable outside the perimeter of the yard. We put the collar on her every time she went outside and she would get a warning beep as she got close to the fence, then she would stop so othat she would not get shocked if she got any closer. It was really easy to teach her to respect the collar.

It was very effective at stopping her from her fencejumping ways and probably cost us about $150 and an afternoon of labor. The only problem was when the batteries wore out in the collar and then she would wait for her moment to be free!

Wow your female looks Identical to my dog Goku who passed away last year. If we hadn't just got a new puppy I would surely have taken her in. Good luck.
