Thread: Re-starting Seahorse tank

    Default Re-starting Seahorse tank

Well, I haven't been on in a while due mainly to the fact that I was depressed. I lost EVERYTHING when we moved last June (75 gallon with corals, zebra moray, fox face, flame hawk). My seahorses all came down with something a week before we moved and I lost them, too--even after force feeding with syringes. :(.

Anyway, we have a MUCH smaller place (less than 1200 sq ft), buy I have the itch to set up another seahorse tank. I have bleached EVERYTHING--tank, pumps, filter, rock--and am only going to add bagged sand. I will do cycling with fish food and biospira. I am adding a UV sterilizer to the mix as well. Hopefully, all will go well and I won't get any nasties in the tank. Going to do it right this time. I will be getting 2 barbouri seahorses and 2 erectus seahorses from seahorsesource.com sometime later this summer when the barbs are ready to go. Hopefully, I can breed some barbs!!!

    Wish me luck!

How big a tank are you working with? The old 75-gal? BTW, I LOVE your signature line... ; )

Thanks guys! I'm glad to be back, too. Missed my maastards!

Sold the 75 gallon. It's the tall cube I had before (20 wide, 20 deep, 32 high).

Just changed the sig line, but I REALLY wish Gary Larson HAD become president!!! LOL
