    Default Peninsula owners- Flow question

I realize that closed loop is used alot on these but is there a way to use powerheads without it getting cluttered from cords? I will not be going bare bottom as I thought of putting them on the bottom already. Would a wavemaker keep the detrius suspended long enough to go over the overflow? I really am beginning to like these(especially to help with reach on a 36" wide tank) but wondering if flow would be a problem?

how long is the tank kevin? the reason i ask is that the wave period depends on the length of the tank and the longer the tank, the longer it takes to wave to go back and forth. on my 8' long tank, it was about 1.25 seconds each way, but on my current tank (4' long) it is a little over .5 seconds each way. regardless, it does keep things suspended pretty well. also, if you set up a gyre type of flow, where all the powerheads and output nozzles point in the same direction that helps.

I am still going back and forth on length at the moment. Either 6 or 8 feet. Since we are still renting I am thinking 6 but if I get a tank built I want to be completely happy with it and would ultimately love a 8 foot tank. Ideally the dimmensions right now would be 8 ft x 3 ft x 2 ft. I have been looking at reefcentral alot lately trying to get pictures/ideas of what I like. This is where I came upon the peninsula style. I wish I would have swung by your house before you tore yours down. So it does seem that flow might not be a problem...

if i were setting up a tank that size, i would go with a closed loop and a wave box.

here is a cruddy video of the 240 - nice slow wave
