    Default Moving Tank

If the weather allows me to, ill be taking down my tank saturday and moving it about 6 miles down culebra to my dad's shop.
My plan is to have it back up the same day and im "guest-a-mating" its going to take a total of 6-8 hours to have everything torn down and set back up.
I plan to save as much water as possible and i think as long as i dont stir up the sand everything should be fine.

But i have a couple questions:
Does all the live rock have to stay under water?
What would be the best way to transfer the coral? I was planning on just putting all sps in one bucket and all lps & softies in another bucket.

Any advise would be very helpful...

if it were me, i would put the liverock into icechests with tank water just to minimize the mini cycle you will have in the next few weeks. the rest of you plan sounds good.

oh, also be sure to have some carbon and maybe some phosban ready to go to run on the tank after the move. it will help keep the cycling to a minimum.

oh, they cant touch, for any period of time, they will start fighting. you may have to use several buckets or just bag em up in ziplock bags to be extra careful

Like Ace said use bags and icechest. Temperature is a big one, and keep track of your temperature before re-acclimating. Do not put fish and rock in the same ice chest. And put an air stone in with the fish. And good luck with the move.
