Which is better Neptune Jr. or Reef Keeper Elite Lite? I need to turn on and off MH Lights, turn on fans when water temp gets to 78, turn MH lights off if water gets to 82. Turn on and control a moon light and phases.

I have an RKL and love it. It really helps stabalize the tank as far temps/salinity/PH go. Programming is logical and easy and there's so many modules for it. Price is awesome as well, for what you're looking to do, the RKL1 will handle it. For $99 it's not that much more than a good timer.

Ive got the RKE. Right now it's not more than a glorified timer for my use. Although its working the lights, chiller and some in tank pumps, it offers a ton of upgrades. Ive got the Temp probe with the SL1 and I have the SL2 but DA is having a hard time shipping out salinity probes. So right now not using it and probaly will have to pick up another brand salinity probe. Bought my system at Champion Lighting and supply since they offered 10% off which saved me almost 100 bucks. No one else offered that discount.

    Overall...i like it so far

The RKE can use more expansion modules and has a nicer keypad. Unless you're looking for more than 8 controllable outlets, save the money and go for the RKL.

I am kinda partial owning a RKE, but I vote RKL. Mine runs everything from calcium reactor to lights, fans, pumps, ATO, not to mention the probes. my next addition will be the moon light controller, two colors to choose from and connects right to the data line. The customer support has been absolutely fantastic from DA as well, any question re: programming they have answered quickly right on the sites forum. even the president of the company answers customers

They're actually offering 3 color's now with the addition of the red LED's. I think those would be cool to be able to see the hidden half of your aquarium, or get all 3 and be patriotic.

Alton, I have an ACJR on my 75 currently. It turns off my outer halides when the temp hits 82. It will turn off the center at 82.5 It also turns on and off via the time. I think it has helped with growth due to the changeup of lighting due to temps.
