My fuel gauge needed bounces in my 1983 Chevy truck. What can I do to fix this. Ive heard it could just be as simple as the gauge itself or something a lot more difficult.

Any gear heads on here have any ideas?

Clean the grounding pad of the Sender in the tank.
Make sure there are no resistive connections between the sender and the gauge.

I's going to bounce some. It's just a reisitive float sender. Cars today have capacitance senders.

Thanks Jack, hopefully its not to difficult to get to the sender unit in this truck. Oh yeah i will disconnect the negative on the battery, last thing I want is to blow up.
