Network/Computer Problems!

Alright heres the deal. Im having troubles updating windows/norton AV and installing exe. I have tried the most basic things so far (turn off firewall/AV, reset connection, everything the customer service guys tell you first) and some windows solutions but they don't always have the right solution for the problem. The weird thing is that my problem occurs on three of my computers and ps3. So it would be unlikely that it was a virus. Even one of my computers is an Ubuntu box and I still cant download updates. For instance, the recent release of 9.10 was unable to install on the box. on my network.

none of my computers/ps3 will update AV or Windows or install .exe. movies, mp3, zip, pdf, etc... work with out a problem. But when i try to download certain files i will recieve errors such as failed integrity check, corruptted files. The weird thing about this ordeal is when I take my laptop out of my network I can update these programs... I was also able to update my ubuntu box to 9.10 from 9.04 by doing the same thing. I have replaced my modem with a newer cisco modem and reset my netgear wireless router to default settings. I have run out of ideas... google hasn't really helped either...

Replace the Router and or modem.

Oh, you could also disconnect each computer 1by 1 and test each time. Your downloads are not downloading properly. Check all of your cables.

Plug in directly to the modem and bypass your router completely. Download an exe and retest.

you also have to make sure the port your updating through is open just because you turn off your virtual firewall doesn't mean that your hardwares side is off

Thanks ErikH, I was able to figure out the problem. I was able to update through my modem. Now I just need to figure out why my router is doing this. Tonight I hope I have enough time to reset it and if that doesn't work, replace it

Sure did I guess my router went bad. I would of thought the router would of stopped working before causing downloading issues... weird
