Look on our Sponsor page for several excellent sources of RO/DI equipment. Don't be afraid to call them either. They are more than happy to answer questions or make suggestions.

if you dont have a RODI unit buy a TDS meter so when your getting water you can test what your putting in ... stores will have 0 tds at one point but not always
not good results, unless you are planning a fowler tank. But even then it is recommended that you use RO/DI water.
The Calcium levels as well as all other metals in TAP water will keep your corals from growing like you would want them too or even death. :(
Might want to do some research reading about tap water and all the components it has that may be harmful to your coral & fish.
The whole purpose of the RO/DI Unit is to remove as much if not all those things from your water to maintain a beautiful growing healthy reef.
Hope this helps.

Just a small tank...
the reason the instructions say to use RO/DI is because the salt mix has everything you need in it allready to reach the correct levels, think of RO/DI water as a blank canvas and salt as paint, you wouldn't paint a masterpiece on a old dirty canvas(poetic reef talk lol). Gabes has very clean water, one of the few with a industrial size filters in town
