out of curiosity...what makes chalice so expensive and popular? is it rarer, etc...??

It's alot to do with the Trend, there are some very expensive ones out there too like My Miami chalice from Jason Fox $1000-1500 an eye. Yes an eye like 1/2" piece.. Sorry off topic.
Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...
