Default Salifert NO3 test kit bad?

My replacement nitrate kit is showing 50ppm on the low range side for both my tanks. My previous salifert kit showed 5-10ppm just a week prior. Gabe checked my levels at the store and they showed less than 10. Both kits are good through 9/2011.

The regent #2 on the new kit seems to have been exposed to moisture. It is not loose and kind of clumpy. Kind of like when you leave sugar exposed to the air for too long. I don't know if this would explain the readings I'm seeing. Just wondering if anyone else has ever run across or heard about this happening.

BTW, Gabe has already offered to replace the kit. Thanks man!

It's possible... I had another brand kit that the mfg admitted had a bad batch of reagents.
