Rena Heaters Kick Butt

I recently tried out a new heater to replace my Stealth. I tried 2 different Stealths and found them to be unreliable. So far the Rena has been very accurate, plastic so it won't break, and has a light that tells you when its on. With the Stealth I never knew if it was on or not or even working.

What finally convince me this heater is worthy of praising was the last feature I discovered today. I came home and found the heater light blinking. I checked my tank temperature and it was at 84 degrees. I didn't think the house would get that hot today so I left the AC off. I opened doors, windows, and plugged in my fan.

Long story short, my Rena heater flashing when temperatures reach an abnormal level has sold me on this product.

++. I use one in my wife's tank because of her bta. I like that this heater is safe to touch.

The link you provided shows a newer model than what I've seen. The older packaging has Doc Wellfish on it. (Remember him?! Brings back childhood memories....)
Anyway... the model you've got, is it the one that's supposed to hook up with a filter? Read about it, but never knew anyone who tried it. Do you have it "in-line" with your filter in any way? I always wondered if it made any difference or was just a marketing trick.

Yes, that's the one I have. I keep mine is in the sump. I think it could work on FW tanks that typically have less flow.
