idea for add-on

I was just pruning my inbox and thought how nice it would be to have a chatterbox or a 'wall' for short comments.

You know how sometimes you want to just make a small comment to somebody but sending a PM just seems a little much.

Not sure if this forum template has something like this but I think it would be nice.

Plus then I don't have to keep deleting PMs and losing phone numbers.

there is a function that will allow comments on the public profiles, but it was disable a while back because it was being abused (spam derogatory remarks)

Should be able to do a chat box. Other forums I'm on have them and they're real handy when you need info quick. Have to be a member to use it so no visitors.

Used to have a Chat Box also. Link is still there, but it's dead. I think it went away during an upgrade because of a lack of interest.

Yeah I was mainly looking for a way to just leave a brief message for specific people (rather than random chat) that wasn't as formal as actually sending somebody a PM.

Just little stuff like:
congrats on xyz
thanks for the link/info/input/etc.
love the your ideas for your new tank. looking forward to seeing pictures

Sounds like the comment box on the profiles was just that.
