    Found a good deal on a new vortech mp40 gen 2 and was wondering how loud they are ?

    If you really hear any vibration it;s because the wet side needs to be nudged into position a little and voila - very quiet. I just got two new also for a very good price.

    I agree with everyone who says they're quite --I have to put my ear right up to it to hear it. No way you would hear it over normal tank noises.

    If they are loud its just break in and they quiet down pretty quick.

    Agreed. I bought two at two different times and each was a little loud the first day.

    Plus, they're a little noticable in short pulse mode. Sounds a little like a respirator, but not overly annoying.

    I have mine on short pulse mode and don't notice anything except a very small hum if I'm right there by it, or when it needs to be cleaned it may get a little more noticeable. Mine is the MP20 though, so a little less output and possibly little less noise.
