    Default Heater

Need to put heater in my tank tonight. What is the safest temp to set it on?

Right now I have it set on about 78-79. Is that cool?

sounds good to me. what's your high temp during the day?

my high temp during the day is 81 for example. I have my heater set to 79 because I feel that that leaves me with an acceptable small swing.
If my high temp was different then my choice of heater temp might be different too.

I don't know, I don't have a thermometer. I never really have had the need for one, but I just added a Powder Blue yesterday and I don't want a temp. Drop to stress him out.

I should be able just to leave that on all the time right? It's a Stealth heater.

yes, just leave it on all the time but do get a thermometer. The plastic ones are only around 2 bucks. You can't correct a problem if you don't know you have a problem.
Monitoring stuff is how you find out there is a problem (like for example a heater gets stuck and overheats your tank, etc.)
