also, be careful. you likely have a 5gb monthly limit on that card. overages for some big downloads could hurt the wallet.

thanks for all the help, i think im going to try it out. found one new for 69 shipped on amazon. so I just hook up this card to the modem and i should be able to access it through my computer and xbox right? I wont have to hardwire it to a laptop? the xbox would need a wireless game adapter im assuming so i can go to their market place to download content?
You have to put in a username and password in the router to access the VZW network IIRC. Once it is set there it will connect everytime after that. Depending on your coverage out there you should be able to connect and play on xbl. I have friends that have tried it, but due to sketchy coverage in their area, the lag is a PITA. Yes you would just connect the xbox to your wireless network. The coverage will be the problem with wifi cards and running your xbox on wifi out of a wifi card just is not "best practice". Can you run a bank in town on 3g? Yes, you can. Can you play XBL on a VZW card in Edinburg? Hmm.... probably not. This is what I was getting at.
Sorry Tony, wasn't doubting you and your data is there, but those stupid cards just aren't as reliable. Especially when trying to play a game. This from the experience of doing it, it's not based on graphs or data provided by a wireless carrier. Sure, intown, where the coverage is great, you can do almost everything you need. In Edinburg though, I highly doubt the coverage is good enough to do much. I just wasn't wanting to get his hopes up for an awesome experience on a lackluster piece of hardware.
200g-No Corals Yet!
no username and password is needed
seriously? i have used those cards inside a enclosed atm (concrete and steel) at festivals and airshows all throughout sotexas. that graph is provided by me.
im not really sure what we are discussing though since we both agree that it wont work for gaming, its just your reasoning that is flawed since the bandwidth is there, along with tons of latency. ftr that graph is on one in the middle of floresville
looks like clear also has high latency

Yeah i dont expect to be gaming over the internet card, but I wouldnt mind downloading arcade games or whatever else is on there, so long as its within the data plan-- if not, accessing the controller remotely would be the main reason for getting this router. id like to just log in with my cell phone and see the status of the aquarium and receive e-mails in case something happens
In my experiences your expectations are reasonable the tricky part will be dns and staying within 5gb limits
I think you're right on the 5GB limit
