I have the blackberry curve through Nextel issued to me for work - strongly dislike it. My Wife got me the new Droid for an early Christmas gift. I looked at both the Motorola and the HTC version. I wound up going w/ the HTC. It has no slide out keyboard and a little weaker on the screen, but is has the same capabilities and is lighter. We are already with Verizon and they gave me some extra time to play with the phone before I was stuck with it so I might still try the Motorola version. So far I love the Droid I have.

I recently upgraded to an android phone. It's the samsung moment. I hate iPhones touch screen so I got the keyboard. So far I love it. Blows the iPhone out of the water as far as specs(colors, speed, etc.) but lacks the apps so many people (me included) get addicted to. It even has a metal detector that actually works. I don't know how but it does. Here are the cons I've faced so far- every so often it won't load a page on the browser and it doesn't have the battery life my bb curve had. I'm still getting used to the interface after using the blackberry and iPod touch. I also like how the apps are free on the droid phones(for now).

If it doesn't get 4g speeds, than don't get it. The 4g phones will be king, mark my words.

I have been tossing around the idea of selling "clear" which is the newest tech. I think the download speeds FOR PHONES will be up to 10 mbps. That is as fast as your home internet.

Clear = WiMAX service, right? Are there any available charts of how wide the service is currently here?

    www.clear.com

there should be a map on there.

It's not like cricket though. Sprint and TWC are the two largest investors in the company, Sprint being the majority shareholder.

WiMax, yes, the commercials are on the radio now, stores are popping up.

Sprint has started to release phones that use it. Some laptops come with the wimax cards installed. I personally think it would be great to spend 55 dollars a month and be able to take a WiMax card with me so I can use my laptop at REAL speeds rather than 70/month. Oh, that 55/mo gets you home web too. Pretty good deal imho.

I honestly thought it was some kind of MLM when I originally talked to the guy about it so I shy'ed away from it. Now I know better.
