    Default Coral (HELP)

I Have A 10 gallon saltwater tank and i want to start buying some coral.
I wanted to know if my fish tank light was strong enough to have coral.
I have 2x 65 watt light bulbs. the bright light and the blue light.

I am assuming you are using 65 watt compact fluorescent bulbs. Those lights are ok for softies and lps.

Mushrooms, xenia, zoanthids, palythoas, kenya trees, sun corals (non-photsynthetic so you must feed them), feather dusters, green star polyps.... just to name a few.

Make sure your bulbs are not old so you don't get a bad nuisance algae problem.

I would think that 2x65 pc bulbs (130 watts) would be a bit much for a ten gallon reef .. well im sure it could work but for just zoas, mushrooms and other softies you might not really need that powerful of light.. but I could always be wrong..

i agree 130w pc might be a lil much, the biocube 8 only runs 2x18 and i grew alot of nice coral in one,how are you mounting the light could have some heat issues, if you want good lighting look into a 70w mh that would be perfect for all kinds of coral
