    Default Anemone thoughts?

Just bought a beautiful purple LTA this past Sunday. Thanks Ed! I have owned LTA's before and did really well with them. I put this guy on the sand bed of course, but inside a cave. Kind of keep him in place type deal. Well, he like his spot and attached to that back of the cave. That's cool, he'll stretch out for the light soon. Well here we are 5 days later, and he is not stretching. He's expanded but in the cave. He eats chunks of shrimp without any problem. I'm not freaking out. I do think that he eventually will stretch and get to the opening of the cave. I had an LTA a couple of years ago that stretched about 5 inches through the rock work to get into the open....all the while keeping its foot on the glass under two inches of sand. I just wanted some of your thoughts on this situation. Feel free to tell me what you would do! Thanks!

Well, since they can move, I wouldn't worry if it looks healthy and is eating.
Killed my first coral in 1991, have tried to do better since. Always tricky.

It is possible for them to get "stuck" or not know how to get to the light, but I wouldn't worry about him finding his way out of a semi big cave. when he's healthy looking/ acting. He may be taking his sweet ole time, Frustrating when livestock exercise their free will

I would say let it be. I used to have a large green lta and it meandered around till it found a nice place. At the moment I'm kinda scared for my bta as it is sitting under my vortech but is slowly moving on the rock. I'm amazed on how they can move around without getting knocked off by all that flow. Btw that purple lta was nice looking.
