Devils Hand - Help??
Our devil's hand doesn't look to hot today...no pun intended. We noticed some spots out on some of the "fingers" and "palm". Our temp in our main tank ( 100g ) did reach 84 today...that may or may not be the problem, but we're looking into getting a chiller...I just wanted to check with everyone to see if the rising temperature may or may have not been a problem or if it were something else?? thoughts ??

Mine has done this before and has always recovered in about 2-3 days. The heater in my tank messed up about 2 months ago and turned it all gray and limp looking. Just did water changes and it came back and is now bigger than ever. It is a pretty hardy coral, I wouldnt get too worried, just watch your temp and keep water in normal limits and it should be fine.

yeah i would say its normal, most leathers seem to go thru periods which can last a few days where they look pretty bad for some reason but then open up bigger than before it seems. I have a toadstool and a finger leather and there will be times where they shrink and turn and ugly gray color but ive learned to leave them alone eventually they go back to normal.
