I've used the side of a credit card to help them along off the rock. Doesn't damage them at all if you do it right.
time for round 2 thanks

Fingers... Just get your nail under the foot and slowly work your way across until it releases itself.

Yeah, fun huh? Your arm gets tired. I just do the powerhead thing (Maxijet 1200). Try to get the flow under the foot. If it grabs in a hole, it takes a while. It's a contest of wills and endurance. I've heard you can use ice on it's foot but I've never had any luck with that. It melts too fast.

Big whorls have little whorls, Which feed on their velocity;
And little whorls have lesser whorls, And so on to viscosity

I used ice cubes in a freezer bag and the ice cubes didnt melt. worked for me
I have used ice directly on the foot or turning it upside down and wait for a day for it to move toward the light.
The best placement I have found for my anemonies are places with a cave they can retract into when they feel like they have had enough light (or whatever else is bothering them).... Keeps them happy and in one place.
