PS3 yellow Light of Death

anyone out there familiar with SONY PS3 I bought my son an 80 gig for 600 bucks for Christmas of 2007 I think, anyway it is out of warranty just wondering if anyone has had this problem. Can it be fixed, sites on line say it can if I send it in but I am leery about that. I have invested allot in that dang thing its ^$%&*&*(*(%$% (composure) sorry for the outburst...anyways your help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED...

Years ago I sent my sons PS2 in and they replaced it for a little over a hundred dollars. I thought someone told me to fix a PS3 was around $150?

Search youtube. I think a while back there was a video on how to fix it. It may have been the red ring of death. Cant remember.

Must be the HDD.

it was the cpu both of them overheated, found out you could take
it apart and heat it back up melting the silicon with a heat gun @ 350
degrees . too mush BS for me returned to costco no questions asked
gave me 605 bucks back and bought another.
