what is dry ice and how is it used (fun to play with)
How does sound travel (using two cans & string)
Finger printiing (can be interesting but make sure everyone wipes their hands if you let kids participate or your project can be the most annoying if fingers prints land everywhere else in the room)
POPCORN, What makes it pop and what kind pops more and faster (always a fun one to do. Makes yours popular with everyone since they get to eat the project as well)
What is a sea monkey (brine shrimp and hatchery)

Is this to be an ongoing project or just like a cool demonstration/experiment?

Thank you Johnthefishguy those are great ideas?
Technomex yes it is just a cool demonstration/experiment that can lead to a competition. She has to be selected and is competing with 140 other 4th graders to be selected.

How about making a magnet out of a coil of wire, a nail and a battery.

We all know that soap cleans dishes, but how, and how can we see it. This can be done with a pitri-dish, milk, food coloring, toothpicks, and soap. My students have always liked this demo.

So much science...so little time. There's a ton of things you can do.

Two glass jars and a paper towel. one jar is elevated a few inches and contains mud. The other is empty. Twist a paper towel and place an end in each jar. By the next day the paper towel will have filtered clear water into the empty jar. My mom worked at a dialysis clinic when I was young and promised me that was how they did it
