Wecome to MAAST Kim. We are a great resource.
Really there are a great bunch of people here. Most have very strange names and are a bit Abby-normal. Hope you enjoy the salt water tank.

Did you let the tank cycle? Seems a little early for all that livestock? I would be happy to keep most your animals until your tank is ready. Unless you got cured live rock, which will still go through a small cycle.

Stop everything. A marine aquarium system "MUST" age and become stable before corals and fish can be added without a tremendous loss of life and wasted money.
Tell us more about your system.

I'm glad to get you addicted! They have a tank that is about a month old and the inhabitants you are seeing are newly purchased I assume they are in that tank. From the first post I don't think the 160 is even up and running. How exciting though! I guess I'll see ya'll at the store soon for lots of rock
As far as the blue hippo goes....he is a little guy so it is possible he has a good hiding spot. I wouldn't worry too much about him just yet. He might reappear and you'll never know where he was hiding at. I'm sure I will see ya'll soon and lots of luck with the new tank setup!!

I've lost a clown and a snowflake only to find them later in my fuge, and I lost my hippo into the overflow.
All three are still alive and swimming around despite their wondering through the system.

i agree with Ping, your tank needs to cycle completly. your nitrite and nitrate should spike along with your ammonia. which if your adding live stock without the cycling finished these will kill everything. i just started into the hobbie myself about 4 months ago. it took my tank almost 2months to cycle before i started adding any live stock.

That's a great size tank! You can do a lot of neat things with that space.
I hope your hippo tang has been found and is happy/healthy.
