    By the way, I want to emphasize to never take our advice against a vets. This is what I would do and I realized I urged you somewhat, but I always take the advice of my vet with each dog. I've had good results with going both routes, but have treated more dogs aggressively than doing the other method. I've never had one die on me either...even up to a 10yr old Rottie.

    Our vet wouldn't recommend one treatment over the other and left it up to us. That's why I was wanted to hear some actual experiences w/the two options.

    For those out there who don't have their pets on preventative meds (like I did), remember the saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, or in this case a $700 vet bill!!!
