Default jacked up about DYI Fish Food

I went to a local Asian food store and bought a mixed seafood bag for 3.50 a lb. It has squid, octopus, clams, and shrimp. My wife and I simply shoved it in a blender and blendorized it - to borrow a phrase from a MAAST member. What resulted was a paste like substance that I thought would not work. But we tried it any way... I took a small spoon full and chunked it in the tank. The paste quickly transformed into small bits of food... My fish went crazy....I have never seen them feed that furious before. It was cool...and rewarding. For the 3.50 lb we have about 30-40 days worth of food (give or take..we are still experimenting.) We still plan on feeding some store bought food from time to time, but we are very pleased with the DYI food outcome. We are also pleased that it is far less expensive and look forward to experimenting with different materials….cool stuff.

How many pounds do you have total that you expect to last 30 - 40 days. Any pics of the final product.

Throw some nori/seaweed in the next blend mix.

Ping...Well, I only had one LB of food...What I did was fill the paste in the empty brine shrimp containers...It filled two of those, two "ice tray" thing we had, and I still had some left over in the piping bag that I flattened out and chunked in the freezer...like I said, I am not sure exactly how many days it will feed, but it sure looked like a bunch of food...

My wife and I are planning on going to the coast in the future. Could we get some live seaweed and through that in the mix?
