    Default Loose baby acan head

Need help. I found a loose acan polyp floating around my tank. It came loose from the colony and doesn't appear to have any part of the skeleton attached so I can glue it to a piece of rubble. I have it temporarily in a small cup with some rubble. Will it attach to the rubble like a mushroom or ricordia? As you can see it is very healthy and has loose in the cup for about 5 days. If you see the main colony in the photo, you can see the area at the bottom right of the red colony where it detached. I have not tried glueing it back and am assuming it the flesh itself will not glue like mushrooms/rics. Thanks!

I believe you've done the right thing and eventually attach itself to the rubble. Hey.... now you can start another colony.

I don't think gluing the flesh to rubble will work. I'm not even sure if it will attache to rubble on its own. As you know, this coral exists with its own hard skeleton...i.e...lps. I would think it would have to grow its own hard skeleton first, then you could glue it. So where you have it now would be good so it can regrow a skeleton and not be lost in your tank.

I think just leave it alone and it will generate a skeleton. Try to put it on a piece os rock. I think it will start it's own's skeleton, mabe attach to the rock. I guess this is similar to polyp bailout in Pocillopora. They just flow around then settle down to form new colonies.
