    Default help drilling jebo tank

    hello all,
i currently have a jebo r375 40 gallon tank and stand which has been set up for a little over 5 months now. After having this tank for so long i find it hard to find a protein skimmer compatible with this tank and i also wish to add a sump to the tank (and then put the skimmer in the sump). i am wondering if there is anyone who has had experience with modifying this tank or someone who knows the best way i could go about drilling and building a sump for it. i already have a 15 gallon glass tank that fits perfectly inside the stand i am going to use for the sump. any ideas/feedback with instructions how i could do this would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

I am not sure if Jebo tanks are tempered. If they are, drilling will cause the tank to shatter. If not tempered, you can use a diamond coated hole saw.

I suggest that you contact Jebo to find out if the glass is tempered. http://www.jeboaquarium.com/Contact%20Us.htm

    Good luck!

thanks for the reply, I think what I'm going to do is install an overflow box instead of drilling the tank. Is there anyone that would suggest/not suggest doing this compared to drilling? Thanks.

Drilling it the best option if you can afford another tank if this one shatters. But I am trying to decide on weather or not to drill my own as well. I really cant afford to buy another tank now so I think I am going to stay on the safe side with the overflow box.

Another option would be to drill the back instead and put on a Calfo overflow instead of standard corner styles. "Usually" if the glass is tempered it is the bottom panel and not the sides. You can contact them though to find out for sure like posted earlier.
