    Default Chiller Filter???

I bought a used chiller from a gentlemen on Marsh. He said water went through a canister filter 1st... then into the chiller. He said the directions call for this. It does say, filtered water, but could I just plumb it into my sump without the canister filter???

I've run them with and without filters, in the past. Probably best to at least use some kind of mechanical filtration (i.e. blue poly filter) on the pump or powerhead that feeds the chiller. You'll be better off without the canister filter anyways.
