    Default seahorse vendors

i have heard some people talking about getting seahorses but are afraid of the difficulty of raising them. they are not any more difficult or different than any other fish other than low flow and quality horses. tank raised s/h are the best to get and can last a long time but are difficult to find, so i am asking for the best place to get seahorses. i don't care if it is from the web or a store.

I have had a lot of sucess with ORA tank raised ponies. I stock them and my wife takes care of them. ORA has red reidi , yellow reidi, and hippocampus erectus. They eat frozen food and do very well.

Ive gotten beautiful reidi from seahorsesource.com. The owner is a very nice man that is willing to help you as much as possible. I was on the phone for hours with him talking of how to raise fry and get them on frozen. I also think his pricing is reasonable for quality seahorses.

Although I have had pretty good luck with ORA horses, I would say hands down SeahorseSource. Dan and Abbie are great!

Dan and Abbie at Seahorse Source are by far the best source of seahorses available today. They stand behind what they sell and provide you with all the information you need. They have never given me any mis-information, sold me anything I didn't need or sold me a product that did not exceed my expectations. There are also hobbyist breeders on seahorse.org that occassionally sell sub-adults that are top quality.

The last time I checked Seahorse Source had redi, erectus, barbs, fuscus and zots available. All are captive bred and eating frozen food, except the dwarf seahorses which require live food.
