Default Setup You Can Leave For Periods Of Time

I'm living in Austin now in a small apartment so I'm thinking about setting up a small 5 gallon nano I had in the past but never really got going. What kinds of things could I have in it that i could leave for about a week at a time and it would be ok? Or things I can do to make it ok to leave for periods of a week. Thanks

yeah...like emerald crabs. do those need to be fed in a nano since it's so small? things like that... and maybe with corals, what kind can't i have? and will things like zoas be ok without dts for a week? it wont be like one week then feed them once then another week so don't worry about that. it would just be a week here and there throughout the year

I have left my 22g nano, without supervision, for a period of 5 weeks, and regularly leave it for 1-2 weeks. I credit that to the auto top-off unit. I do have a sixline wrasse, and he seems to find enough food in my absence.

A top off unit for sure. I just left for a week and threw the metering pump in a 7g water container and it worked fine. Plus I do not have any fish in my system. Less hassle that way.

i actually had a 2.5 gallon that was absolutely gorgeous that i messed with maybe once every two weeks. i had a large number of zoo's, some acans, a boxer crab, and a yellow rose goby. everything worked awesomely until it fell off the wall while i was on vacation and was completely dry by the time i came home. needless to say it was a complete loss. the only circulation/ filtration was a hagen mini submersible filter/ powerhead, and quite a bit of macroalgae and a mangrove. everyone says that small is so much more difficult, but that wasn't the case for me. It had a cover, so evaporation was next to nothing, only had to add water once a month, and never have i seen a more stable system.

Would like to talk more to you about yours. mine will be covered as well. I have heard so much bad about small tanks its refresing to hear someone laud them. I am really excited to get mine set up this week. I was still thinking about a glass bottom. I really like the clean look and there is as you know no space to spare.
275 gal, loving my new stand.
    Always looking for big fish.
