Tunze Auto Top Off

I just hooked up the Tunze Osmolator Universal 3155 and give it 2 thumbs up.

Pros: Easy to set up, to the point that it's one of the few retrofit type gizmos I've used that have worked on the first setup. The unit is quite instinctive on how it works and the control box is a complete no brainer.

Cons: More of those instructions that are multilanguage and multiproduct.
The definite con though, is that the holders for the water sensors, are geared more for sumps/aquariums where the walls are FLAT, ie. none of the plastic bracing rims that go around aquarium tanks. Otherwise this problem, can be worked around with a bit of imagination.

I do agree with the drawback of the mounting. It is geared toward the rimless / or eurobraced tanks that don't have plastic moulding pieces.

I ended up ditching the mounting hardware and epoxy'd the black mounting tracks to some extra magnets I had. Works perfectly and allows me to easily move.

I give the unit two thumbs up also, no issues thus far. Setup and going for three+ months. I'm about to add a Kalk Reactor in line with it, so I hope the pump can handle it.

The customer service is by far the best PRO.

You can always silicone the holders to the sump walls. It even states that in the owners manual.

Only complaint is the power supply to the control unit. If the male/female ends of the power chord and control box develop any corrosion, then you'll have problems w/the unit losing power. Other than that (and the cruddy mounting brackets) that unit is very reliable.

I'm having that issue right now. Try to keep your control unit away from direct moisture.

Yeah it really does not matter on the metering pump.
