I relocated the heater to the overflow like Chris said he had it. There where zip ties in the sump that the heater fit in, so I thought that's where it went. Thanks for pointing it out. I never would have known.

Yes a skimmer is next. don't know if I want to build one, or buy one. Funds are short right now.

That fish is a mullet I caught in a cast net in my front yard. (I live next to the water). I put it in there for the cycle since I don't have much live rock.

Ingleside on the Bay is directly across the Corpus Christi bay from Corpus.

Thanks again guys. I do have a question that I'll post in a new thread.

    Tank update.

during the cycle I had the Chai Rock going on strong.

after a month or so, I got some snails and crabs from Aquarium Masters to do a little clean up. Man what a job they did.

Shortly after I got me a clown, Damsel, and a Cromis.

After letting these guys settle in, and making sure the tank was up to par, I added a few more critters one week at a time.

I have 25#s more of live rock curing in San Antonio that I'll pick up over the holidays.

Oh yeah, forgot to add. I Ebayed a cheapo skimmer with a needle wheel pump. chopped off all the "needles" and zip tied some coarse mesh to the wheel. Then chunked all their pumbing and added my own. Works like a charm!

That's the virgin skimmer pic. Now the skimmer in nasty brown, foamy, and stinky.

    It's getting there.

Joshua, I hate you man. That saltwater needle found a vein. I'm hooked.

All critters come from Aquarim Masters in Corpus Christi.

Okay, so I'm drinking my first cup of coffee while reading this post and apparently I'm processing s-l-o-w-l-y this morning. I kept staring at that last photo above and trying to figure WHAT is that odd cluster of lights right at the waterline? Finally it registered in my brain that it's a ceiling fan and it must be reflected in the glass from the room. Ha!
