Thread: Koralia not working

    Default Koralia not working

So when these go out, do they just stop working? This is like nine months old if that :( It was working yesterday fine and today, nothing. No sound at all coming from it.

Is this what happens when they die? I am kicking myself as I dont have the receipt... After a few months, I just ditched the box. My other koralia has been going strong no issues for a year and a half or so. Maybe I just got a dud. Any info is appreciated.

Try soaking it in warm vinegar for a while and scrubbing it (especially around the propellor) then rinse it in fresh water and see if that helps.

did you just clean it? try to unplug it and plug it back on and blow it with a turkey baster. If still not working then it may just need to be clean.
Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...

Careful, when you pull it apart ,make sure to keep all the parts(especially the small o-ring behind the impellor shaft).

I didnt clean it. I normally clean them every six or so weeks. I just walked up and noticed that it was not working. Not even one of the turn it on and have to help it along happened, like happens with my tunze every so often. Just wasnt working. Tried unplugging and plugging back in, didnt work. Tried to soak it in vinegar and scrub it, didnt work. So, its just sitting in vinegar now. I got it at aquatek. I will check tommorrow if they keep a receipt in their system. I am wrong, its actually 15 months old. How time flies. I think they have a two year warranty??

I have a ground on my tank.. so hopefully that takes most of the electric current out.

I had one die this summer. It was 8 months old. Took it apart gentley and it still did not work. I tore it apart saved the magnet holde. Cut the cord off it and salvage what I could. Not what you want to hear. But the others have been working for about 18 months stll spinning.
