Also late but, we booked a trip to the Bahamas through Expedia 2 years ago and didn't have any real problems. We did have a delay with check in at the hotel(they couldn't find us in their system by name, but did by booking #) but I took the precaution of bringing a printout of our itinerary with us which fixed the problem.

I've always used Expedia. I'll have to look into the kayak.com thing next time, hope you have a good vacation.
