I have one, and it makes very little sound. I have mine on my 40 breeder, but will likely upgrade to an MP40w in the near future. It's probably not completely necessary, but I realy like to move water in my tank!
What size tank would the MP20 be going on? I'd say it's plenty strong enough for anything <30g. Or anything that is less than 3' wide.
