    Angry How Do I?

    Okay,

So we got this lobster a while back, and for a while it was doing good. Now I have noticed not 1 but a few fish missing and could not find them. Last night we bought a really nice mandarin fish x-large size beautifully looking and was doing great once we acclimated him. And welll this morning I find him in the mouth of the LOBSTER>>>. The book indicated that he is a Hawaiian Reef Safe Lobster..

Well sad to say its time to go Mr. Lobster.. I know you are a scavenger but the other two fish went missing long after their acclimation. You are the only one. And beside I saw you chasing the Manderin last night when the lights went out. BUSTED .... You got to go..

Question is? How do I catch him if all he does is hide in the rock, I really dont want to move alot of the LR out of the tank, but If I have to I will. Does anyone know of any tricks that may work without having to go through such hard work? Let us know please. Want Lobster gone today!

That stinks! As I was reading your post I was like "ahhhh man that sucks" as soon as I got to the part about the mandarin! I love my mandarins and would cry if that happened!

You could always use traps...but the thing I hate about traps is you always catch the ones you didn't want to catch and in this case that might not be a good idea. IE;...you set the trap, go to sleep and wake up with a half eaten powder blue and a happy lobster both in the trap :(

I would save yourself the time upfront and just set a couple of hours aside to move the reef and catch the little *******

    Good luck.

Lobsters are pretty stupid, a trap would probably be your best bet.

The big mouth small orange juice bottle worked for me in catching a way too big pistol shrimp. I leaned it up against his rock with food in it. I tied fishing line around the mouth and when lights went out, he went for the food and I yanked the bottle upright so he couldn't back out. Took a few tried but it worked and I didn't have spend hours taking out rock. Good luck

    Update:

After blocking off half of the 125 aquarium, we caught him. Only had to move LR on half of the tank.. Not so bad. He is now going to Alamo Aquatics... To Find a Better home.. STUPID LOBSTER, he's reef safe alright, just not fish safe. Thanks all for the trap ideas. Appreciate it.
