most prices have gone up. I know of some people who were on contracts with a fixed price of 14cents...when contract ran out they were switched to month to month at 22cents without being told. My bill in summer is around $800-$900, but not a small house.

Last month just like every summer month CPS coal plant and Nuc. Plant can not keep up with demand so they pump out more AC using natural gas and we know how much that cost. They do it by increasing the sur-charges and when it cools down they take them off. I thought SA residences got an extra moth w/o the charges in the past?

I got used to being over 150 in the winter with no lights just a computer and tank mon thru fri. in the summer i peak at 500. I am running mad 5 250 W MH and 12 T5 actintic four footers. Chiller, relocate it to the outside of the house or put in attic. I have fans taking the air above the tank into the attic when the lights turn on. I need to get them on a temp gauge to know when to turn on and off. also insulate your pipes with foam covers, any where they are running, also as many of your pumps that you can take out of the water and have running externally the better, they dont add the heat to the water.

I LOVE IT COLD!!!! I grew up very poor & didn't have an Air Conditioner until I was 13. I'm making up for all those hot summers when I was a kid.
