    Default fuzzy dwarf lionfish

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with keeping a fuzzy dwarf lionfish with inverts like shrimp and with smaller fish?

Lion fish; no matter what species will eat inverts or any fish that can fit in its mouth and sometimes will try to eat even if to large.

I know of atleast 2 people that have a dwarf lion in their reef tank! You just have to watch them and what you put in your tank with them! My friend keeps his with a cleaner shrimp and i have watched the shrimp clean the inside of the lion fishes mouth! If you do deside to keep one make it the last fish you put in your tank! Get your inverts and all before him! Also keep him feed and he wont eat his tank mates!!

i have one in my reef with no problems, although my cleaner shrimp is about the largest i've ever seen. I would just purchase the lionfish at an appropriate size to not eat what you have and you should be ok. He never took to non-live food, but i enjoy hand feeding him live feeder shrimp ( which i feed cyclop-eeze immediately before feeding them to the lionfish ). They are really cool fish and are fast learners. I usually have to scare mine away when i put my hand in the tank to do maintenance because he always swims up to my hand.

Lion fish are like moray eels. Its just a matter of time before they eat one of your prized inverts or fish. It may take a while but one day you will notice that something is missing. Simply the way they are designed- large eyes and mouth = predator.
