    Default Two Wrasses

Newbie question, can two wrasses be kept in the same tank (55 gal)? I bought a Sri Lankian yellow coris wrasse from Ed at Phenomenal Aquatics. Everything was fine till last weekend. Noticed my cleaner shrimp and the wrasse missing. That was sun night and the week went on and I didn't see him. Well Foster's and Smith finally got in starry blennies in stock and I needed something to meet my minimum shipping order so I added a yellow coris wrasse. Well I went out of town today and found the Sri Lankian swimming around. So far so good, don't seem to be fighting. So should I keep them both or does one need to find a new home.

We have had as many as 10 wrasses in my wife's 110g with not much problems. Some of them disappear for weeks at a time but that is normal...it's called "in flight".

Two wrasses in a 55G is not a problem based on my past experience.

Coris for the most part seem to get along OK. It normally takes them a week or so to adjust to the new digs. When I had mine I didn't see it for 2wks except when the lights were off in the morning. Once they came on it would bury itself. I added a christmas wrasse and they got along at first, then the coris jumped behind the over flow and didn't see it for almost a week. When I caught it and put it back in the display, it was enough time apart that the christmas had taken over and bullied the coris to death. When I added my Mystery wrasse I moved the christams to the sump for 3 days and gave the mystery time to adjust now they swim along just fine.

They're doing good together. It seems at times they school together. With all that yellow you almost need to wear shades to view the tank.
