If your tank is glass use a razor blade. It will come right off.
buy an EZ-Blade and attach it to your magnet cleaner
My Reef is Alive and well Despite My repeated Daily attemps to kill it!!
sharp razor...
200g-No Corals Yet!
or you can use a credit card or id if it's acrylic
You're welcome to some of my asterina stars. They're stripping ALL the corraline from my glass and overflows. Where they go looks like new again.

coralline alage is good alage any way so use a blade scrape it off and sprinkle the shavings on your live rock to boost the growth on your live rock vs your glass, as an after thought are you dosing calcium or purple up? If so stop using it for a while.
i have the same problem.... these past few weeks its like my coraline algae just decided to spread and not stop. i have a acrylic tank so i have to be carefull, but it comes of easy for me. you should see my refugium now.. 2 weeks ago it had no coraline on it, now you have trouble seeing through the glass!
For acrylic, I got a flat plastic pan scraper at Target, designed not to scratch Teflon pans. Works better than a credit card w/no scratching.
