k not to be dumb but what is closed loop ? sounds obvious enough...but

Where you use a powerful pump as a means to circulate water in the tank as opposed to powerheads. Many drill their tanks on the back or bottom and use a powerful pump to draw water from the tank and push it back through to create patters of flow.

Not dumb at all, every newbie has the same questions!!!

OIC...I was looking at a wavebox to do that! My tank is not drilled...my next one will be!
