    Default Plantation Suites

Plantation suites is nice and they have continental breakfast. Some rooms have a very small kitchenette.
It is located on the Mustang Island side of Port A.
Phone 877 836 3866.. Heated pool and spa. Nice place.

Last time I checked Plantation, they start about 100-110/night.

Beaches are cleaner and better than where?

Can't help with a place to stay, stayed in many but never happy with any of them. About 10 years ago I stayed in a little cottage on stilts and absolutely loved the place. Unfortunately I never kept the info and haven't been able to find the place since. There are plenty of big high rise places down there though, if you want a guaranteed decent clean room and all that would be a good bet. Watch out for the summer rates starting soon as rooms will shoot through the roof in price, oh and they've got a wicked out of towner's tax too...

Its kinda hit or miss on the cleanliness of the the beaches down there. Some hotels will clean in front of their hotels, others won't. The city of Port Aransas will scrape the beaches every so often....especially during seaweed season. The closer you get to the main pier and channel in Port Aransas, the dirtier the beach is.

Also, the part of the island nearest the turn off from the causeway (JP Beach I believe?) is horrible. Lots of trash and glass in the sand everytime I go. Its a favorite hang out for college kids...hence lots of party's and recklessness.

I go past the posts (just outside of the Port A city limits). Its usually the nicest part. Stick close to a beach access road entrance for food/beer runs!

I kind of like staying here when we go. Definitely not a four start place but very Port A style of place and the rooms were pretty decent size (at least what we had). They are maybe a half mile from the jetties, my kids walked there from the place.
