Default Pump Impeller questions (Mag users)

Well tonight I finally filled my aquarium with freshwater to do a run test on everything (Tank,Sump,Skimmer, pump). Well to my disappointment my Mag 7 I bought used Less than 2weeks ago is very loud. Ive had mags before but knew this was a bit to loud so I disconnected and took it apart to find that the impeller is broken and missing a blade. My first time to use the pump and really want the tank going asap so this is a set back.

    My question

Can I run the pump with only 2 blades untill I order a new impeller and it gets to the house or will that burn out the pump or something? This bites

What's going on with these mag pumps lately? I've had two impellers break on me. The round top near the blades keep breaking off the rod.
I'm guessing the impeller is not balanced now and is causing the noise. I would just wait and get another impeller.

It's been awhile since I took a Mag pump apart, but I don't think there is too much damage it can do as everything else is sealed. Only thing that may happen is the other blades break off while it is so wobbly. I have an Iwaki pump where one of the fins broke off of the impeller. Overtime, the being off balance caused the others to break off as well. I think my pump sucked in a hermit crab that I had thrown in the fuge. Always good to take pumps apart and clean them every so often. Gives you a chance to inspect them for any damage as well.
