try vho to start off then after about 30min to hour and a half mh come on shut off vho. MH off after being on for about 7-8 hours then have them turn off and vho come on for about another 30-1.5 hours then lights out. lunar lights might help out if wanting to view at night a bit. you can also turn on the vho in between then to get a little bit more support.

this is what i ment with turn on in between you can also turn on vho in between the mh beeing on so it somewhat resembles noon and sun being out at full force.

You can cut the MH to 4-6hrs. if you want b/c you dont have anything in the tank now that required MH been on that long. You can extend the MH light bulbs that way too.
Reefing is just like cooking, all the ingredients have to be just right , except you don't have to bring the water to a BOIL...

All you have is some xenia? You only need those lights on when you are in from of the tank. That is a good amount of light(7.6watts per gallon)...7-8 hours total per day for the tank is a lot. what would be anyones reason for more? I would run them from 4pm-11pm personally.

Check out Brians aka GreenMakos lighting schedule. His tank is amazing. I think he run VHO 8-10hrs and MH 6 hours.

There is not a set time to run them. Its pretty much finding out what your corals prefer. I would not run them longer than 8hrs though which is what I plan on running mine at untill I get either VHO or T5 for supplement then I will run my MH for 6-7 hours.
