Thread: what coral prefers low light and high flow?

Default what coral prefers low light and high flow?

In my 29 gal I decided to bury one of my koralia 3's with large pieces of liverock. It looks good, helped to build up that side of the tank, and it provides good flow to the lower levels of the tank, and back behind the rocks. My goal was to attempt to eliminate dead zones.

At any rate, I now have an area around that koralia that gets low light and lots of flow, can you guys think of anything that would grow well under those circumstances?

    Thanks!

Don't you have a PFO mini 250w HQI? I have one over my 75, just one. I have frogspawn, some Duncans and some zoas all towards the ends of the tank and they are fine. Alot of the softer corals will be ok. It's a good place for xenia, if you want to see it pulse!

I thought you needed low flow and high light to get the xenia to pulse??

I think Medium flow and Medium light is actually best.

The jury is out on what causes the xenia to pulse. I was saying if you want to see it pulse, because it may be too turbulent for the xenia to sort of free float and do it's thing, pulsing away...
