    Looks like the edge of your cap was hit by something - a fall, or another coral.

    Caps are usually pretty resilient. If it continues to receed, then consider trimming it. It will break off with some pliers or wire cutters - they are pretty fragile.

    thanks guys. i think it stopped. doesnt seem like it has lost anymore tissue

    check your tank temperature. should be number one concern especially when multiplae frags/colonies start to pop.
