yeah, they talked about doing this years ago, but I'm pretty sure it got thrown out due to no financing. Would have been really cool though.

Yeah that ain't going to happen. They've been talking about doing an aquarium for years. I know that there are some large tanks installed at some LCRA buildings and local parks but they would never use the Seaholm as part of a public aquarium.

Being that I work in a very large commercial construction industry and they we work closely with all large projects in ATX we all knew years ago that Seaholm would be Condos. That's been the idea for over 5 years of planning. Just like every other block of downtown, the land is just to valuable to not make it into condos and shopping. Not to mention that for 3 of those years of planning I lived 5 blocks from the old power plant therefore any and all decisions were a hot topic for the neighborhood.

Nowhere did I see any mention of an Aquarium.

Wow, that sucks. I lived in Austin for a few years before landing in San Antonio. That would have been an awesome addition to the city. Probably could have boosted the tourist dollar, too. I would have gone to it.
    Logic?!? Auuggggghhhh!!!!

Yeah, I heard about this a couple years ago. I thought it was being planned out by the folks at the old Austin Aquariums.

I would have gone to it too :(
