Thread: Question ???

  1. #1

    Default Question ???

I have very thin worm like creaters in my sand and rock. They all seem to bunch together, colors are orange-brown with black stripes, and they seem to multiply like crazy. Does anyone know what they might be ??? and are they harmful to a reef ???

No. They they are smooth and are as fine as a piece of hair. I have lots of coral and fish so I'm pretty worried. If you know of anything else please LMK. Thanks !!!

If they are the orange ones they are spaghetti worms. Not harmfull, but they can irritate zoas if they are too numerous. My wrasses keep them in check. One worm will actually have multiple tentacles so you think it is multiple worms, but it may be just one. Unless you see them all over your tank.

Now those are exactly the way they look. Just happens I bought a wrasse today. Hope he will get rid of them. Its true about them irritating Zoas. Is there anything else that I can do or need to do ??? Thank you both so much for your help!!! I would have posted a pic but my camera would not pick them up.
